A-buh-dee, a-buh-dee – That’s All, Folks!

7 November 2012

It’s sunset in America.

Aside from these points:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
Alexis de Tocqueville

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”
Alexis de Tocqueville

The Supreme Court is now lost as well. Way to go! Though we lasted over 200 years, the prognosis, currently, is not good. Remember: the bastard in office will “…have a lot more flexibility after he’s re-elected.”

Go get your Øbamaphone, you miserable leeches – use it before it goes silent. It’s time for the producers in this country to go on strike…

I’ll have a lot more flexibility after the election…

22 October 2012

As we draw up to the 2012 presidential election, that famous “hot mic” gaffe of Øbama – the one that exposed him for the traitor he is – comes to mind. What, precisely, is it that Øbama felt he’d need more flexibility to do with a country that, until very recently was (and quite possibly still is) our sworn enemy? What is it Øbama wishes to do for Russia when he no longer has to worry about voter backlash?

I’ll have a lot more flexibility after the election…

And who else is the Appeaser In Chief looking to exercise this new flexibility with? I have a few ideas. How about Iran and Al Qaeda? After all, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” And what’s the best way to make sure the future doesn’t belong to someone, I ask? I think it is via the same means his friends in Al Qaeda are so adept at employing. Imagine all the slanderers of the prophet they could ensure won’t own the future if Ahmadinejad is successful in achieving his nuclear goal? And the delivery vehicle Uncle Joe ensures us they don’t have? Proven a fool, again, Joe. A suitcase and a willing suicide bomber is all they need – and they seem to have no shortage of either

I’ll have a lot more flexibility after the election…

Chilling to think about, isn’t it? Perhaps he’ll have more flexibility to remove our ability to defend ourselves if he doesn’t  face any reprisals? How about more flexibility to prosecute that raging battle between him and Christianity? You know: the one regarding his signature legislation obviating the 1st Amendment rights of religious organizations and the conscience rights of religious health care providers? More flexibility to cram more socialist laws down our throats without any threat to his re-election chances?

“I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

Mr. President: You’re Pathetic.

5 October 2012

After going down in flames to Romney in the first presidential debate of the 2012 election cycle, a debate in which Øbama couldn’t help but repeat time after time already-embarrassingly-refuted claims against Romney (such as the chimerical $5B tax cut plan, unbelievably repeated again after the debate. Repeat the lie often enough, eh, Barry?) – likely due to oxygen deprivation, per Internet Inventor, climatologist, and High Priest to Gaia Al Gore – Øbama comes up with this gem: “but if you want to be President, then you owe the American people the truth.”

OK, Øbama, I’ll bite at that one. Let’s see your university transcripts.  Let’s see how you were registered there – does it indicate a solid, natural-born US citizen? Or a likely natural-born citizen who passed himself off as foreign-born to garner preferential treatment and financial aid? How about that birth certificate, Big  “Ø”? What will that tell us? That you hide that, too, brings up the potential that you ran for president illegally. I still suspect you’ve simply always been a liar, lying to benefit yourself, and releasing either document will expose the lies.

How about “Fast & Furious”? What was your involvement in that? Since you invoked executive privilege, we know you’re involved – even if you weren’t before. In any case, you’re responsible for what occurs during your administration; under your watch, so to speak – though the intent of the term watch doesn’t really apply to the behavior we’ve observed from you these too long years (Watch ≠ Golf, by the way).

And now, this mysterious and miraculous improvement in the unemployment number. Incredible what star power  you have, eh, Øbama? The unemployment number hasn’t moved that much in such a short time in almost thirty years, but – ah! Serendipity! – it managed to do so two days after you embarrassed yourself, your administration, and your party in one of the worst presidential debate thrashings I’ve ever witnessed – and I saw the Reagan/Carter debates! I probably shouldn’t complain though: it’s truly the first transparent act from your administration since it began back at what seems such a long, long, unbearably long time ago – even your own base sees right through it.

You truly are the worst president in US history, Øbama. I hope that, in November, you’re sent off to bask in your glory on your own dime

Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Religion, and the “religion of peace”

17 September 2012

You’ll accept our peace if we have to beat it into you!

I know I’ve been silent for months. My self-imposed hiatus had more to do with my absolute disgust with the political and economic situations in the US and my absolute disdain for the players – I simply couldn’t give voice to what I was feeling: our media – our traitorous media, as a whole, needs to be purged. The Democratic party – the traitorous democratic party needs to seek its roots (not the ones in Soviet Russia; the other ones). But an article I read this morning – a simple report – needs comment.  Why? Because I don’t get it. Really, I don’t. Every day I see disgraceful affronts to the Christian faith. There are letters of protest, email petitions, and speeches from the pulpit from the Christians. Yes, the Christians get angry, but no one is harmed, no one dies. More importantly, those responsible are left to create their perversions against the Christians unabated. For the most part, their protests are ignored or mocked by the media and society as a whole. They’re a buncha holy rollers – hahhaha! Lookit the Bible thumpers – snort!

Why is this suddenly bothering me now? We’ve known this disparity, both in religious demeanor and in society’s response, for a long time. Why now? Well, someone created a film which painted the founder of “the religion of peace” in a, shall we say, less than favorable light. The response is as it always is with these “peaceful” practitioners of islam. All hell breaks loose. US embassies in muslim countries are sacked outright – attacks on US soil – and US citizens are murdered by the proponents of this “religion of peace”.

The US response? Apologies all around, and the purported creator of the film is arrested to determine if publishing of his film somehow broke the law. Some contrived issue with probation for some previous conviction that would have made publication of this film a crime – not the content, mind you, but that the responsible individual would have used electronic means to publish it. My, my, my – how hokey do they get? And how absolutely stupid do they take us for?! Had this been a you-tube of this person breaking their neck doing parkour stunts, or bashing Christians, or some other practice viewed as so pedestrian by our government and our society, do you think there would have been a second look? Do you think a posse of sheriffs would have been sent out to bring him in for some contrived violation of parole? Not likely: it was the content that has driven his insurrection; not some trumped up violation of conditions of parole.

And am I the only one that sees the hypocrisy? The glaring double standard? Where is the alleged artist who created “Piss Christ”? Was s/he dragged in to languish in a cell somewhere while they trumped up charges to demonstrate that the making of his/her “art” was somehow illegal? Did Øbama or his administration offer any apologies to the mass of offended Christians? No, of course not. No need to pander to the Christians – particularly when you’ve duped the majority of them into believing that taking ones wealth at the point of a gun and giving it to someone else (who may be a slothful generational thief) is a manifestation of Jesus’ call to charitable giving. No need to pander to Christians because they do not believe in demonstrating their angst over your actions using your still-warm corpse.

Washinton DC: Any interpretation of “making no law respecting the establishment of religion” and “equality of each citizen under the law” makes what you’ve done in this case shameful, illegal, and entirely too telling of your motivation.

Who is responsible for this?!

9 July 2012
It's interesting to note the unemployment rate begins to increase in February, 2008 - when Øbama announced his candidacy...

Comparison: Unemployment rate from each year from Jan 2000 to present

Well! Now that I’m over my case of Roberts-induced depression, I see that YADNER has come out! And, with it, YAAFOTII.

I know, I know. My work in the manufacturing industry has made a fool for acronyms. Let me help you out, there: Yet Another Disappointing National Employment Report and Yet Another Admonition From Øbama To Ignore It. I’d think, by now, most of you should have been able to guess the acronym. I mean, this has happened once a month since January 2009 – that OTHER day that will live forever in infamy. With each disappointing report, we were admonished by The Øne not to make too much out of it. The same disclaimer is published at the bottom of every month’s report. Why? Because the numbers have consistently been pretty disappointing, and those that offered a glimmer of “hope” turned out to be based more on happenstance than any grand plan involved in actually steering the economy to correct its course.

I hear again and again how Øbama isn’t responsible for this economy, that he inherited it. Really? REALLY?! Take a look at the chart above. The data is the Gummint’s own unemployment  data taken from their very own Department of Labor Statistics. Pretty stark, when you look at it in this context.; the Øbama years vs the eight years of Bush – the last year of which was under a Democrat-controlled congress.  Yes, it’s a stark difference.

Because of this inconvenient truth, Øbama and his administration would rather focus on job creation than on the actual unemployment numbers. He and his minions will crow about the 12 million jobs created since the start of his administration. Remember the “jobs created or saved” mantra? That can’t be used anymore. Why? because the 12 million jobs created figure they like to bandy about is not net of the millions of jobs destroyed; it is gross. Don’t doubt it? Then ask yourself this: why haven’t the unemployment numbers improved? Why is the U6 number, which includes folks who have simply dropped out of the race, so dismal? Why have more people jumped on the disability rolls than at any other time in history?

Back to the chart. All of the red lines – the first that showed the unemployment rate begin to increase, to the group that is soaring so much higher than the remainder of the charted years – coincide with that famously Democratic-controlled congress mentioned above.

So mayber you’re right Maybe Øbama did inherit this economy. But he inherited it from Pelosi and Reid; definitely not from Bush.

Too much

22 June 2012

Pelosi’s Bonnie to Holder’s Clyde…

Nan again. Unbelievably, inexplicably, San Fran Nan has come out to say that the Republicans in Congress are after Holder to get him out of play. By what motivation would they be doing this, you ask? Well, in her twisted version of reality, the Republicans believe that, by eliminating Holder, there will be no opposition to their evil, sordid plans to get dead people and illegal aliens off the voting roles!

Those absolute bastards!

Again, in Nan’s world, it’s perfectly fine for the DNC to require photo ID in order to attend their convention – after all: you don’t want any of those sneaky conservatives slipping in! You even have to show photo ID to attend a Moochelle Øbama book signing. But to ensure that a person at the polls is legally qualified to cast a vote? My God, man! What are you suggesting?! Those evil REPUBLICANS are marginalizing minorities! (Well, at least we hope that illegal voters are in the minority…). Those evil,  uniform-wearing, baton-swinging REPUBLICANS at the polls… keeping minorities aw… Wait a minute. Those weren’t REPUBLICANS. And they weren’t turning away minorities  under threat of violence! They were “Holder’s people” – the New Black Panthers! And they were turning away CRACKERS and WHITE DEVILS under threat of violence; clearly not minorities. Huh. How could Nan have gotten that so backwards?

Nan, Nan, Nan…

And it wasn’t the Republicans who implemented the botched Fast & Furious scheme to justify another foray into gun control – a scheme that was implicated in the confirmed deaths of at least one Border Patrol Officer, at least one Customs Enforcement Agent, and in the deaths of countless numbers of Mexican citizens; no: it was Holder’s DOJ that implemented this scheme. Notably, Holder is clearly not a Republican.

Now, with Øbama’s Nixonesque implementation of Executive Privilege, it is clear that he, himself – The Øne – had a hand in the scheme – the criminal scheme – to create justification for the claim that the firearms being used by the Mexican cartels were being sourced in the US. And, notably, Øbama is the absolute antithesis of a Republican.

Personally, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find Hillary Clinton involved in this scheme up to her droopy eyeballs, either. Lord knows she parroted that “the majority of the guns come from the US” myth at every opportunity. And the Lord knows equally that she’s not good at taking direction – particularly from her  inferiors. Inferiors such as Øbama… And, too, she is not a Republican.

(By the way, Calderón, I don’t believe for a minute that the Mexican Government was not complicit in Fast & Furious. It’s “covert” goal of justifying ever greater infringement of OUR – not YOUR – 2nd amendment rights is too clean of a match for your stated intentions to have been so conveniently coincidental…)

Huh! So where in the frenetic whirlwind that must serve as your mental processes does this come from, Nan? Is it based on the expectation that the majority of the American (legal) voting public has reached that mainstream media-induced state of inattentiveness, apathy, and idiocy that they can’t see through your fantastic talking points? Or is it your belief that you’ve pushed the fabric of our society far enough to the left that it doesn’t really matter; that there is now a majority of (legal) voters so dependent on the government that you can’t lose anyway?

And what of the people of San Francisco? I know that Cah-lee-fone-nya is pretty much existing in a fictional reality all of their own; more aligned with some strange (and, notably: failing) socialist utopia than with these United States – but aren’t they embarrassed to be represented by the likes of you? Don’t even socialist utopias have some minimal standards for intelligence, credibility, and integrity? I know I’m constantly embarrassed by the walking DNC talking points that represent my area – and am equally concerned that any sentient being would actually vote for them – but the majority of the folk in my nearest, largest population centers aren’t really sentient. Typically, they’re drugged-out, uneducated, unemployed,  multigenerational welfare recipients, so I guess I’m not that surprised that these lunatics keep getting voted in. Pure Michigan, that…

In any case, Nan, thanks for playing. Unfortunately, your entry has failed to gain you the prize…

On another note, we didn’t miss the vote that will jack up our energy costs – you know: the one you enviro-nazis had around coal-fired generation plants? You “Republicans” who defected on it and all you good Democrats: we know where you stand. When this hidden tax starts hitting us in the pocket books – and it will hit them hard – we’ll be sure to remember you all and, hopefully, change where you stand to the unemployment line.

A twisted view

6 June 2012

Yes, yes! Now I understand your perspective…

After the Wisconsin recall election results were reported, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who formerly gloated that the defeat of Walker was imminent, and that it would represent a referendum against conservative fiscal policy,  tweeted: “Despite the disappointing outcome, the effort sent Scott Walker a message that his brand of divisive politics is offensive & wrong.”

Really? REALLY?! The recall effort getting “owned” by Walker sent him a message that what he was doing in the office of Governor was somehow wrong? By winning the election? Huh. I don’t get it. But, too, I never realized Florida was on another planet.

The message the recall sent, as I read it, is that the unions no longer have free reign over the Wisconsin economy. The message, as I read it, was that, even with the traditional widespread liberal cheating at the polls (things like, oh, I don’t know – say, things like the  rumored busloads shipped in from Detroit by the, ahem, “union at the Chrysler plant” to vote for Barrett…), conservatism won the day. The message, as I read it, is that liberalism is not desirable once its destructive nature is realized.

Oddly, I don’t find Walker’s “brand of politics” anywhere near as offensive nor divisive – particularly in terms of race and class –  as I see those of the likes of the mainstream media, Øbama, Reid, Pelosi and, yes: that strange visitor from another planet, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  But, then: I’m a natural-born  citizen. Of earth…

-Pateratic

7 June 2012 Update: That other strange visitor from another planet, internet inventor Al Gore, voiced his agreement with Wasserman Schultz’s opinion on his pet network’s Viewpoint “news” show. I guess Tennessee must be in a similar orbit to that of Florida. Well, really: we’ve known that all along, haven’t we?

A call to action

28 May 2012

Time to crush the liberal snake…

A loud call to action for all Christian citizens of The United States who are of voting age…

Full text of Bishop Daniel R. Jenky’s homily at men’s march and Mass, Peoria, IL:

There is only one basic reason why Christianity exists and that is the fact that Jesus Christ truly rose from the grave.

The disciples never expected the resurrection. The unanimous testimony of all four Gospels is that the terrible death of Jesus on the cross entirely dashed all their hopes about Jesus and about his message. He was dead, and that was the end of it. They looked for nothing more, and they expected nothing more.

So as much as they had loved him, in their eyes Jesus was a failed messiah. His dying seemed to entirely rob both his teaching and even his miracles of any lasting significance.

And they were clearly terrified that his awful fate, at the hands of the Sanhedrin and the Romans, could easily become their awful fate. So they hid, trembling with terror, behind shuttered windows and locked doors.

When the Risen Christ suddenly appeared in their midst, their reaction was shocked incredulity. They simply could not believe their own eyes.

Reality only very slowly began to penetrate their consciousness when Jesus offers proof of his resurrection. He shows them the wounds on his hands, his feet, and his side. Jesus even allowed them to touch him. He breaks bread with them and eats with them. And only then could they admit to themselves what had seemed absolutely impossible – the one who had truly died had truly risen! The Crucified now stood before them as their Risen, glorious, triumphant Lord.

His rising from the grave was every bit as real as his dying on the cross. The resurrection was the manifest proof of the invincible power of Almighty God. The inescapable fact of the resurrection confirmed every word Jesus had ever spoken and every work Jesus had ever done.

The Gospel was the truth. Jesus was the Christ, the promised Messiah of Israel. Jesus was the Savior of the world. Jesus was the very Son of God.

There is no other explanation for Christianity. It should have died out and entirely disappeared when Christ died and was buried, except for the fact that Christ was truly risen, and that during the 40 days before his Ascension, he interacted with his Apostles and disciples, and on one occasion even with hundreds of his followers.

Today’s appointed Gospel reading for this Saturday in the Octave of Easter is taken from the 16th Chapter of Mark. It concludes with a command from the lips of Jesus, given to his disciples, given to the whole Church, given to you and me assembled here today: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”

We heard in today’s Second Reading from the Acts of the Apostles that the same Sanhedrin that had condemned Jesus was amazed at the boldness of Peter and John. Perceiving them to be uneducated, ordinary men, they recognized them as companions of Jesus. They warned them never again to teach, or speak to anyone, in the name of Jesus.

But the elders and the scribes might as well have tried to turn back the tide, or hold back an avalanche. Peter and John had seen the Risen Christ with their own eyes. Peter and John were filled with the Holy Spirit. They asked whether it is right “in the sight of God for us to obey you rather than God. It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

And Peter and John and all the Apostles, starting first in Jerusalem in Judea and Galilee and then to the very ends of the earth, announced the Resurrection and the Good News to everyone they encountered.

According to the clear testimony of the Scriptures, these Apostles had once been rather ordinary men – like you and me. Their faith hadn’t always been strong. They made mistakes. They committed sins. They were often afraid and confused.

But meeting the Risen Lord had changed everything about these first disciples, and knowing the Risen Lord should also change everything about us.

You know, it has never been easy to be a Christian and it’s not supposed to be easy! The world, the flesh, and the devil will always love their own, and will always hate us. As Jesus once predicted, they hated me, they will certainly hate you.

But our Faith, when it is fully lived, is a fighting faith and a fearless faith. Grounded in the power of the resurrection, there is nothing in this world, and nothing in hell, that can ultimately defeat God’s one, true, holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

For 2,000 years the enemies of Christ have certainly tried their best. But think about it. The Church survived and even flourished during centuries of terrible persecution, during the days of the Roman Empire.

The Church survived barbarian invasions. The Church survived wave after wave of Jihads. The Church survived the age of revolution. The Church survived Nazism and Communism.

And in the power of the resurrection, the Church will survive the hatred of Hollywood, the malice of the media, and the mendacious wickedness of the abortion industry.

The Church will survive the entrenched corruption and sheer incompetence of our Illinois state government, and even the calculated disdain of the President of the United States, his appointed bureaucrats in HHS, and of the current majority of the federal Senate.

May God have mercy on the souls of those politicians who pretend to be Catholic in church, but in their public lives, rather like Judas Iscariot, betray Jesus Christ by how they vote and how they willingly cooperate with intrinsic evil.

As Christians we must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, but as Christians we must also stand up for what we believe and always be ready to fight for the Faith. The days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism. We can no longer be Catholics by accident, but instead be Catholics by conviction.

In our own families, in our parishes, where we live and where we work – like that very first apostolic generation – we must be bold witnesses to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We must be a fearless army of Catholic men, ready to give everything we have for the Lord, who gave everything for our salvation.

Remember that in past history other governments have tried to force Christians to huddle and hide only within the confines of their churches like the first disciples locked up in the Upper Room.

In the late 19th century, Bismarck waged his “Kulturkampf,” a Culture War, against the Roman Catholic Church, closing down every Catholic school and hospital, convent and monastery in Imperial Germany.

Clemenceau, nicknamed “the priest eater,” tried the same thing in France in the first decade of the 20th Century.

Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care.

In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path.

Now things have come to such a pass in America that this is a battle that we could lose, but before the awesome judgement seat of Almighty God this is not a war where any believing Catholic may remain neutral.

This fall, every practicing Catholic must vote, and must vote their Catholic consciences, or by the following fall our Catholic schools, our Catholic hospitals, our Catholic Newman Centers, all our public ministries — only excepting our church buildings – could easily be shut down. Because no Catholic institution, under any circumstance, can ever cooperate with the instrinsic evil of killing innocent human life in the womb.

No Catholic ministry – and yes, Mr. President, for Catholics our schools and hospitals are ministries – can remain faithful to the Lordship of the Risen Christ and to his glorious Gospel of Life if they are forced to pay for abortions.

Now remember what was the life-changing experience that utterly transformed those fearful and quaking disciples into fearless, heroic apostles. They encountered the Risen Christ. They reverenced his sacred wounds. They ate and drank with him.

Is that not what we do here together, this morning at this annual men’s march Mass?

This is the Saturday of the Octave of Easter, a solemnity so great and central to our Catholic faith that Easter Day is celebrated for eight full days, and the Easter season is joyously observed as the Great 50 Days of Easter. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ – risen from the grave – is in our midst. His Holy Word teaches us the truth. His Sacred Body and Blood becomes our food and drink.

The Risen Christ is our Eternal Lord; the Head of his Body, the Church; our High Priest; our Teacher; our Captain in the well-fought fight.

We have nothing to fear, but we have a world to win for him. We have nothing to fear, for we have an eternal destiny in heaven. We have nothing to fear, though the earth may quake, kingdoms may rise and fall, demons may rage, but St. Michael the Archangel, and all the hosts of heaven, fight on our behalf.

No matter what happens in this passing moment, at the end of time and history, our God is God and Jesus is Lord, forever and ever.

Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!

Christ wins! Christ reigns! Christ commands!

American Cool vs. Your Time In School

27 April 2012

Graduating into Øbama's economy...

Sooooooo! You’re graduating from high school this year! Cool! Planning on going to college? Looking for aid? What Øbama’s been sayin’ sounds pretty good, huh?

Yeah. It sure does.

Let’s fast forward to your graduation with your shiny new government-financed degree, shall we? Time to parlay all that hard work into cold, hard cash! It’s time to actually find a job in your field of study.

I can just hear your  gleeful questions now! “Huh! What? I can only get a job at McDonald’s? And at minimum wage?! What happened? Why can’t I get a real job?”

Well, my young friend, if you really think about it, turn off the emotions and look right at it, it all makes perfect sense: you’ve already had the benefit of those corporate dollars you would now earn. You got them handed to you by Øbama – because he stole that money from the very companies that would have given you a job in order that he could give you student aid! Pretty cool, huh? He stole your future, and turned it to a tiny trinket to give to you so that you’d vote for him. Kind of like how the Indians lost Manhattan. What a trickster!

Øbama talks a pretty good game around federal aid and student loans, doesn’t he? So you get all this aid, get your education paid for, and graduate. Now, you’re one of us – those on the outside, those that pay for all those bits and pieces of federal aid that got you through school. And you know what? The money we could have paid you as a starting salary, setting you upon the road to real achievement and success, is gone! Where? Øbama took it, and gave it to you – and to many others studying in programs that never would have led to employment, anyway.  He took it in the form of increased taxes we had to pay into our very inefficient government in order that you could have that financial aid and those student loan guarantees.

But, hey! Øbama’s still got your back! You can collect welfare, live off of food stamps -and perpetuate the fiscal situation that keeps me from hiring you. Wow! Is THAT cool or what?! Øbama has got to be the  coolest president ever!

Welcome to reality. And, if you’re able to nail a job, welcome to the other side of the liberals’ largess.

Romney? No thanks…

17 April 2012

Stop, or add to the destruction. The choice is yours.

So what, then? You’re not going to vote for anyone? Or are you planning to toss your vote into the incinerator of some “great white hope” third party or write-in campaign, such as suggested by Rev. Klingenschmitt? History teaches us that either of these courses is just as good as casting your vote for Øbama.

Again, folks, if the decline can be slowed, there is future hope that the decline can be reversed via the ballot box. If it is accelerated, well, that hope transfers from the peaceful political system to the success of some future “freedom fighters”.

The choice we’re faced with in this year’s presidential election is very much like having marginal brakes and coming around a blind curve at 70 MPH to find a wall-to-wall jam on the freeway. You’re going to have an accident no matter what you choose. Whether it is you or your car which is totaled as a result depends on whether you step on those faulty brakes or the accelerator – or continue on at 70MPH. The latter two are highly likely to take away any chance of your doing anything more with the future – and likely that of those you hit, too – whether or not they made the appropriate choice, your choice takes them with you. Brilliant.

Please use your intelligence and choose wisely.
